about

On the title track from Overholt's debut album, the line "I might be a goner," hints at a longing for answers in the midst of countless questions. A blue-collar son from the east-central hills of Ohio, Overholt has put together a full length debut album that bridges his Midwestern upbringing with the pace of his current East Coast residence. As, Overholt considers Jeff Tweedy one of his most significant influences, this album is most reminiscent of Wilco's narrative roots rock—simultaneously contemporary while maintaining an old-soul lyrical voice. As stated in the chorus of the album’s standout, ”Wise Young Men,” the record reflects Overholt’s understanding that wisdom for a twenty-something is an acknowledgement that there exists a multitude of things unknown.
